So this weekend, I decided to try a new and adventurous way to spice up my weekend. I decided to have a movie night with the little. After, the movie was over I turned it off and fell asleep. Around midnight, I heard my mom come home. About 45 minutes later she comes upstairs and goes into her bathroom and begins screaming somethin's wrong. I get up all groggy to see my mom standing ankle deep in water! JOY!! We are frantically bailing out the bathroom when she asks me to go downstairs and get the mop. That's when I hear it...torrential rainflood style water. I turn the corner to find water pouring from the ceiling over the dining room table and water pouring from the ceiling in the kitchen! Now *I'm* standing bare foot and ankle deep in water. Fast forward 45 minutes...now my little is awake. It's a regular 2am party up in here now! My sister tells me "You know you did this right? You bring new meaning to make it rain up in here. No dollars necessary!" Turns out she was right. I flush of the toilet started all this. Tue plunger never sealed so the water just kept flowing...OOPS! And yes, this really happened.

Awkward and Awesome Monday!
Ok, so my tied-for-favorite blogger, Sydney (at The Daybook) does a segment on her blog called Awkward and Awesome Thursday and I thought I'd like to jump on that bandwagon, but why wait until Thursday? Monday seems like a much more appropriate day for me to write about awkward and awesome things since a) I'll still remember them from the weekend and b) I often need a little humor to get me through my Mondays. Maybe it's just me? It is? Oh.
Here are my awkward and awesome moments from the previous week (feel free to laugh and then join in on the fun!):
Awkward:
* Having the new guy at work walk up on me on his first day while I was watching this amazing parody video on door t0 door evangelism:
* Annoying my mom enough in a conversation to have HER accidentally call ME Mom! What the heck?!
* Learning that the original name for donuts (which used to be fried in pork fat) was oily cakes. It's a good thing they changed that because there is absolutely NOTHING appetizing about something called an oily cake.
* Starting to sing a song at church and realizing about 10 seconds in that no one can hear anything because the previous singer turned the mic off. Fail.
Awesome:
* Scoring an amazing Vera Wang jacket (originally $88) for $6.60 and subsequently fist pumping at the register.
* Learning more and more about God and how pursuing Him is transforming me. WOW!
* This weather - absolutely gorgeous out there!
* Throwing an improptu appetizer party for Oscar viewing :) SO FUN. And delicious.
Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome!
Let's face it, we all know those people who seem to constantly have outlandish stories about bizarre events occurring in their lives. Those people keep us entertained with their everyday mishaps. To many of our friends, G and I ARE those people. On a nearly daily basis, hilarious and unbelievable events unfold in our lives. We often joke about starting a blog to memorialize these events, so I've taken that step, and here it is.
These are all true stories people! We are here to show you that life is all at once humiliating, humorous, and beautiful. ENJOY!
